Occasional wine note
This is the 1st wine we carry centered around the Montepulciano grape variety, which is not to be confused with the village of Montepuliciano in Tuscany that produces Vino Nobile di Montepulciano. In that Tuscan village, the primary grape is Sangiovese, which they refer to locally as Prugnolo Gentile. In the Marche region, which borders Tuscany, the primary red varietal is the Montepulciano grape, which is a grape best known from the Abruzzo wine region on the southern border of Marche - Montepulciano d'Abruzzo. In the Conero sub-region of the southern portion of Marche, Montepulciano flourishes

Falstaff
Rich, dark purple red. Distinctive bouquet with notes of dark chocolate, blackberry and a hint of tar. Soft and round on the palate, spreads out comfortably, with firm tannins, a present oak note, which still overshadows it somewhat. (translated)

Gilbert & Gaillard
Deep, vivid purple, little development. Engaging nose of red and black berry fruit, spice and mentholated notes and a touch of scrubland. Smooth and soft on attack, then rich, full-bodied and harmonious on the palate, with silky tannin. A real treat.
