A stunning single-varietal wine from the Veneto region, bursting with ripe cherry and licorice flavors, offering a long, captivating finish.
Aged for 20 months in new Allier barrels, then for an additional 8 months in large Slavonian oak casks, then aged in the bottle for an additional 10 months before release
We tried this wine in Milan as a Corvin tasting at our hotel and it just blew us away. This is normally the primary grape in the big Amarone wines of the Veneto region. We had never had it a single variety. Loaded with ripe cherry and licorice that just fills your mouth and nose so brilliantly, right through a long finish. We had to bring some back with us and now we get to share it with you.
An elegant red, with an enticing nose of ripe fruit and floral accents, as well as a tang of iron-laced minerality that underscores flavors of ripe black raspberry and cherry fruit, star anise and Earl Grey tea. Medium- to full-bodied and well-knit, sleek, fine-grained tannins emerge to firm the lasting finish. Hard to stop sipping, but should expand nicely with even short-term cellaring. Drink now through 2030. 1,125 cases made, 150 cases imported.
