Notes from critics

One of our foodie/wine aficionado family members has been touting Washington wines for years. We've tried several highly rated cabernets, but none have really delivered that wow you get when you open a cab from Napa, Happy Canyon, or Paso Robles, even Sonoma (better known for Pinots). Well, we were in Washington for a wedding and took the opportunity to visit all of the highly rated tasting rooms in Seattle. As tasting rooms really know how to manage the bottles to maximize what people are tasting, we thought this would give these wines the best opportunity to impress. There were a few wines that did indeed meet or exceed our bar here, but one really stood out. This Browne Family tribute to the family patriarch differentiated itself not just because it’s fantastic - cherry, spice, and everything nice - but the story of William Bitner and his contributions to the war effort (WWII) as a CIA agent with all of his correspondence adorning the tasting room walls, and the pride of the family who followed really added to the experience. That pride seems to really stand out in this wine you will likely be pinging us for more of.
